Local Risk, Response and Resilience Planning

Nepal is facing a multiple challenges: sustainable development; human security; climate change and local environmental degradation; population ageing, growth, migration and displacement; political and economic instabilities; obesity; increasing demand for energy, food and natural resources.

The main objective of the local risk, response and resilience planning (L3RP) unit at the LEADERS Nepal is to facilitate to understand the role of disasters in local development and of development in local disasters in Nepal. The unit addresses human security and wellbeing for individuals, groups and institutions in the context of current and potential crisis. The unit serves as a knowledge sharing platform that provides training with evidence based inter-disciplinary research and good practices on local hazards, risk and vulnerability monitoring, humanitarian intervention and resilience building.
